One of the things I enjoy best about being a Carolina Chapter member is the opportunity to share my knowledge with others and then, in return, to receive their knowledge. Our community thrives on members helping each other, no matter if it's helping with practical advice, theoretical advice, or brainstorming. This issue of Carolina Communiqué is centered around such knowledge sharing:

• If you didn't have a chance to make it to the Carolina chapter's last two memebership meetings, boy, are you in luck! In this issue, we feature write-ups from those meetings.
  • Take a look at Monique Cobb's article on the January meeting on John Martin's presentation about the "People to People Technical Communication Delegation to the People’s Republic of China." There's a link in that meeting recap that takes you to a second article where Monique details the meeting even further, and by the time you're done, you'll feel like you were there.
  • Christina Eftekhar provides a recap of the February membership meeting, where Alice Osborn talked about making a living as a writer.
  • To take a description of that meeting a step further, Andrea Wenger's article expands on the topic of freelance writing.
• Sheila Loring presents a review of Adobe Framemaker 9, complete with screen shots and a straight-shooting evaluation of its features.
• Rich Maggiani explains that your message must be audience-centered.
• Jeff Davidson provides tips on how to effectively present charts in your documentation.
• Rick Sapir describes how he used the knowledge he gained from redesigning the Carolina Chapter website to redesign the Technical Editing SIG's website.
• Hillary Hart shares her knowledge about establishing a defined body of knowledge for STC.
• Jenna Moore's president's message encourages you to share your knowledge and your activities from other organizations.
