By Frances Wirth, Training Committee Chair, STC Carolina
Each of us has a set of indispensable helper tools that allow us to accomplish our daily tasks: software, Web resources, and reference books. STC Carolina is compiling a list of the most helpful and popular tools, and we need your help.
We have posted a survey online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=69448399533. We invite you to share with us your favorite "can’t-do-without-’em," free or low-cost (under approximately $100) software programs or utilities, Web resources, and reference books.
Whether it is an organizing aid, a language reference, a systems tool, a graphics utility, or whatever, please tell us about it. Maybe it is a stalwart tool on every technical writer’s must have list, or maybe it’s something you just happened upon, and now can’t live without. We want to hear about them all.
We will gather all your recommendations for The Tech Writer’s Essential Toolkit, and we will present the results at a future chapter meeting.
As an extra incentive, when you participate in our survey, you automatically will be entered into a drawing for free prizes. We plan to give away some of the most highly recommended tools. But you must act soon — please complete the survey by April 27!
If you have any questions, please contact Frances Wirth at wirth at peoplepc dot com.
