My Vision for STC
The world’s landscape is changing with a Millennial workforce and disruptive technology. I am passionate about attracting Millennials into our industry and preparing both, our experienced and novice technical communicators for the changes ahead.

The digital revolution promises to impact existing professions more than the industrial revolution did. Technologies like the IoT, content automation, wearable technology, natural language processing, machine learning, and augmented reality will provide new ways to deliver precise information with less need for human interaction. The world is getting smaller. Individuals and businesses are connecting and collaborating with more ease than ever before. We need a cultural shift and possibly new skills to evolve our trade with the digital revolution. I believe STC is a great medium to drive this cultural transition.

My vision for STC is to
  • Drive an increase in international chapters and membership to keep pace with increased globalization
  • Proactively, drive the necessary cultural evolution of our trade to meet new user experience requirements coming in the near future
  • Increase focus to better serve ALL types of technical communication, not only technical writing as the delineation continues to blur, and
  • Attract and meet the needs of cross-generational technical writers.
My voyage in tech comm, so far, has been enriching and educational. I want to share my experience and knowledge. Serving as VP of STC is the best way for me to do that. I hope my modern ideas and strong corporate experience will serve current STC members and drive new membership. End of article.
