I believe that most STC members would tell you that one reason they're a part of this organization is to improve themselves in some way. I know I am.

This issue of Carolina Communiqué highlights ways in which we can better ourselves. Some of those ways include:

• Building a personal tagline
• Becoming involved in educational classes, as either a teacher or a student
• Attending conferences
• Taking a moment to improve our grammar, both written and spoken
• Reflecting on the past in order to improve the future
• Learning how to better plan and lead a project
• Patterning ourselves after a successful chapter member
• Re-inventing ourselves during tough times?

We've included a variety of articles on this topic because we're all in a different "place" when it comes to improving ourselves. Each of us has different interests, different amounts of time, and different overall goals. My hope is for these articles to help nudge you along in your never-ending quest for self-improvement.
