Before I end my three-year term as Managing Editor of the Carolina Communiqué and transfer it to the very capable hands of Michael Harvey, I would like to take this opportunity to say a special word of thanks to all of the contributors and volunteers who have made this newsletter possible. Without the contributors — too numerous to list here — who have willingly shared their ideas and expertise with all of us in the Carolina Chapter there would be no newsletter. And without the volunteers who have donated their time, energy, and skills, the Carolina Communiqué would never have generated the enthusiastic comments and requests for information that we have received from many other chapters.

Special thanks are due to Ann Roberson, whose graphic design expertise was showcased in the complete redesign that accompanied the switch from a printed newsletter to a web-only publication in November-December 2001; to Deborah Dion, our very capable Graphic Designer, who has enthusiastically donated her time and skill to maintaining and further developing the high graphic design standards of the newsletter; and to Naomi Kleid, our Production Editor, whose professionalism and experience has played a key role in maintaining a high editorial standard.
