The Carolina's program schedule got off to a late start this year due to Hurricane Fran's rumble through the area. Chapter members gathered at Lake Crabtree County Park on October 10. It was comfortably cool and though darkness came quickly, we still had plenty of time for business and pleasure. New members of the chapter and prospective members had an opportunity to mingle and see why so many are active members of STC.

As part of this meeting, I presented Certificates of Achievement to the members of the 1995-1996 Job Bank: Susan Booker, Lee Bumgarer, Richard Evans, and Jodi Pollock. Led by Jodi, last year's Job Bank team set up an automated telephone messaging system, established a set of Web pages devoted to employment information, and hosted an excellent program at the Summer Conference. Indeed, they set a standard in performance against which we can all measure our degree of achievement. End of article.
